Starting Afresh

So, here we go again..

Hello. As you might know already, my name is Harlie and I am the face behind Walking Primrose.

I launched my business officially in June last year and like so many of us, I had no idea how difficult things were about to become. There is no best or right time to start a business but let me tell you, hindsight is a funny old thing.

Times were (and I guess they still are now) turbulent. Life was hectic, and from September onwards it was becoming harder and harder to keep my head above water. The effect of the cost of living crisis was enormous and it took a devastating toll on my mental health.

Earlier this year, I had to take some time off from life to find myself and start again. I knew I wasn't finished with Walking Primrose so I went thoroughly over my business plan, customer research and branding and it became apparent very quickly that because of my ill health and struggles, I was getting a lot of things wrong. Walking Primrose wasn't exactly what I had envisioned for it to be.

This year, I will be re-branding and re-launching my business along with new jewellery designs, but still with the same values of mental health and well-being at the forefront of Walking Primrose.

I've mentioned before (a few times..) that starting a business is challenging. There's a lot of 'winging it' and hoping for the best, but you never stop learning and you will always find a way through the difficult times. Like Theodore Roosevelt once said, nothing worth having comes easy.

So, here's to starting afresh and starting again. I know I am heading in the right direction, with a clearer mind and a better sense of where Walking Primrose needs to be.

It'll take a heck of a lot more to keep me down.
